"Caroline’s ability to engage and inspire is truly remarkable. Her story of becoming sober and the losses she experienced is not just personal—it’s powerful, and the way she shares it is both honest and compelling. I first heard her speak at an Oakville Chamber of Commerce event, where she captivated the room with her authenticity and vulnerability. Having since met with her and learned more about her journey, I can see how her resilience and message could impact so many others. She’s a speaker who brings not just experience, but a true ability to connect, inspire, and spark meaningful conversations."

We had Caroline Barrett speak to the members of the Rotary Club of North York this morning .

We appreciated her honest assessment of the struggles she faced for much of her life; how it affected her relationships with friends and family, and her choice to help others by publicly speaking about her struggles with alcohol addiction.

I would recommend Caroline to any individual who is caught in an addiction and feel there is no way out. Her story may benefit the family or friends of someone who is struggling with an addiction. Although her early life challenges with alcohol were extraordinary sad, her commitment to seek a way out, and her success at achieving it, is deeply encouraging and motivating. Caroline’s story is both encouraging and inspiring; one she needs to keep telling to give others hope.

" I could not have asked for more from Caroline Barrett and Sober Me in making this guest speaker assignment happen for my students at Fanshawe Toronto at ILAC. Caroline shared her knowledge and experience in understanding addiction and recovery and brought an authentic voice and soul into the very lives of these students. She had that ability to talk with authenticity and compassion about the addicted substance user, how that affects the individual and family, and how to recover and live beyond that addiction.

They really confronted the harsh realities of addiction. Students dealt with Caroline's insights in preparing thoughtful questions and ultimately challenged their preconceived ideas of what addiction really is. Not only did they get an intense learning experience, but they also opened up avenues of transforming the importance of developing support networks and resiliency and how best to source resources for those touched by addiction.

Truly an action Sober Me about fostering the kind of honest dialogue and education in the trade that it needed. This collaboration formed a fundamental step toward ensuring that students grasp the truths of addiction more than skin-deep, equipping them with understanding and empathy down the track in terms of supporting colleagues, guests, and loved ones.

Thank you, Caroline, and the whole Sober Me crew whose efforts will make a difference."
